OYSTAR Erca-Formseal not only fills yogurt – the EF 600 forming, filling and sealing machine also produces transparent cups from APET material for filling mineral water.

Courtaboeuf, France, February 26, 2010. Mineral water is a part of everyday life, particularly in the desert regions. Masafi, the leading manufacturer of natural mineral water in the United Arab Emirates now fills its water cups with an OYSTAR Erca-Formseal forming, filling and sealing machine. The EF 600 manufactures up to 27,000 cups per hour with filling quantities of 100, 125, 200 or 250 ml.

 

The special feature of these water cups consists in the use of APET material, or amorphous polyethylene terephthalate. This material is transparent like glass, but not nearly as heavy. At the same time, the amorphous structure makes them easy to grip, without the cups “buckling” when used for drinking. In contrast to the hard edges usually found in the case of plastic cups, the one-way cups from Masafi also have a chamfered lip for comfortable drinking. The resealable lids are thermoformed during production and adjusted to the cup, thus guaranteeing an optimum fit. Printing of the Masafi logo on the sides of the cups is also carried out problem-free.

 

With the installation of this new machine OYSTAR Erca-Formseal continues to develop its long-standing business relations in the Gulf region. Since 1994 the packaging machine manufacturer has supplied ten type EF 600 type forming, filling and sealing machines to the United Arab Emirates.
